Do you wonder how “good” is “good enough”? As an adolescent I often heard that knowing the Bible was important to living a “good” life. I grew up imperfect, but generally a “good” girl doing mostly the “right” things.
Searching for more I attended a Christian college, married a pastor’s son, and began raising a family.
I wanted to raise my children with Bible stories as the basis for their moral choices. So for the first time, I read the Bible all the way through. I didn’t understand it all, but I got enough to want more. Those stories, thousands of years old, do impact my life today. Reading God’s word introduced me to a personal relationship with God – a deity who truly is a loving heavenly Father who sees me, who knows me, and who has plans for my life.
My faith isn’t a list of dos and don’ts. It’s the foundation of my life. I don’t always get it right. But, He constantly extends grace, which I gratefully and humbly receive.
I’m a wife, a mother, a cancer survivor, a writer, a chocolate fanatic, and an expert in making mistakes. I’m also dearly loved by Jesus and have found what I’ve been missing. If you ever wondered if there’s more to religion than lists, if there’s more to God than ‘thou shalt’ or ‘thou shalt not’; if you’ve ever felt there’s gotta be more to life, this, this, is the place for you. Together we’ll explore how Bible passages apply to us and why we each need a personal relationship with Jesus Christ to live a fulfilled life. Please join me as we Draw Closer To Him.
