“She’s the whole enchilada.”
Really? I sat in shocked silence. I couldn’t believe I was in an interview for a position I’d never dreamed of, didn’t even know existed, and somehow I was hearing just how my resume perfectly fit their needs.
A resume I hadn’t built intentionally.
Early in our marriage, I’d crossed state lines in support of my husband’s career. I’d worked various positions, whatever worked around our family’s schedule. Looking back over two decades, God used each of those jobs to supply our family’s needs then, and also now. He knew just what I would need to one day qualify for this job.
After I took the position God had prepared me for, we had a major health crisis. Amazingly, God had supplied all we needed before the crisis ever started: access to medical care through insurance and time off so I could care for the patient.
I am truly awed by God. He does fulfill His promises. He is constantly working for His children. He knows the plans He has for us. In each stage of life. Every chapter. Every day. Philippians 1:6 assures us, “I am sure of this, that He who started a good work in you will carry it out to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” (HCBS)
He also promises in Philippians 4:19 to supply all our needs.
Maybe you, as I, need to look back, cataloging just how God has provided. Life’s daily distractions can cause us to lose sight of His actions and even His loving care. A review helps keep His love focused in our minds.
Won’t you join me in asking Him to help us see and recognize His orchestrations?
Prayer: Dear Lord, Thank You for orchestrating my life. Even when the day to day activities feel scattered, You have a plan. Please guide me in how to best serve You and help me to trust You with my future. Thank You for keeping Your promises, In Jesus’ name, Amen.
