“In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.” Romans 8:26
Do you always know what to pray- always finding the right words to convey your heart’s cry?
Some days, as you rise to face another day, loneliness is the only present companion. Sometimes, it’s a struggle to voice that whirlwind of crushing, consuming emotion. To give words to the onslaught of thoughts cascading through our minds faster and fiercer than the winds of a tornado.
Frustratingly, there are times when attempting to call on God is confusing, even exhausting.
Even then, we are not alone.
Not only do most people who take their faith seriously know exactly what you are enduring, but God Himself is not leaving you alone there.
In Romans 8:26 we are promised that the Holy Spirit is there, interceding for us with “groans words can not express.” The Holy Spirit’s groans convey more to God than our most carefully chosen words ever could!
And He is there, interceding, or “acting on behalf on someone in difficulty or trouble, as by pleading or petition.” (Dictionary.com) He is pleading to God for us.
Our Heavenly Father does not stop there with arming His children with assistance. Romans 8:34 “Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died, more than that, who was raised to life- is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.” This verse assures us that Jesus is seated next to God, and is also “interceding (petitioning) for us.”
So when words won’t come, when even the questions aren’t clear, know, in the very depths of your soul, know you are not alone.
You are loved, indeed!
