“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” II Corinthians 5:17
How long have you walked with Christ? Really desired to live like a Christian: become Christ-like?
I was so blessed to attend the WinterJam concert this past Saturday night. The devotional theme was “Reset”. Using a technological term was ideal for this intended audience- teens and young adults who have grown up gaga over gadgets!
The question was asked: ‘How many times have you done something and wished you could hit “Reset”?’
Because, in technology when you push the ‘Reset’ button, you automatically go back to the beginning and start over, getting a blank page, a perfect chance for a ‘redo’.
Christ offers us that exact opportunity. Although we sin, He is willing to pay the price- in fact He already paid it.
As Christians, everyday is an opportunity for us to ‘reset’ our lives: to truly focus our minds, hearts, and strengths on Christ. (Luke 10:27)
We are reminded that God’s “mercies are new every morning.” That God’s “Faithfulness is great.” (Lamentations 3:23)
It is the third week in January and many of us have forgotten our New Year’s Resolution. But, God offers us the ‘reset’ button now. Won’t you ask Christ for the courage to activate it?
Reflections:
1) How do you define your faith?
2) How do you define Christian, or Christ-like?
3) What hinders your faith from growing?
4) What Christ-like qualities do you exhibit?
5) Which Christ-like qualities do you need to work on?
Please share your experiences pressing the ‘Reset’ button. How has God shown you that ‘His mercies are new every morning’ indeed?
Thank you all for your faithfulness. Any gift any one of us possesses is from God, and we need to use that gift to glorify Him and Him alone. I appreciate your love and support. Please return by Monday, January 28, for the next post, “Recharge”.“
