I will give thanks to the Lord because of his righteousness;
I will sing the praises of the name of the Lord Most High. Psalm 7:17
When our youngest, Evita, was turning five I told her how blessed I was to have her for a daughter. “God knew I needed an Evita,” I said. She stopped playing with her doll and looked right up at me and said, “I am so blessed you’re my Mommy!’
I never expected that response.
It made me think: do I ever thank God for all His blessings, for his provision, and for never giving up on me? Do I recognize how very blessed I am and verbalize it to Him?
I know the answer: certainly not enough. Yet I want to give Him praise. I want to acknowledge my blessings, thanking Him for them and not taking them for granted.
And I want to give God the joy I received when my daughter told me she was so blessed to have me. Because knowing God and having Him in my life is the best blessing I will ever know.
Reflections:
1) What blessings have I taken for granted?
2) Express how thankful you are to God for your blessings.
