“Therefore, there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.” Romans 8:1
Maybe you grew up with family who were never satisfied. Maybe you work for someone who never hands out compliments but is always complaining about your attempts.
Maybe you feel your abilities, your contributions, your offerings, you; it’s never enough.
Do you ever just feel condemned?
Romans 8:1 promises us, ‘If we are in Christ, we are no longer condemned.”
Once I accepted Christ’s sacrifice for my salvation, no one can condemn me, because Christ does not condemn me.
If I choose to let other’s words paint the picture of who I am, I’m believing a lie. I can’t allow my self-talk to condemn me either. God’s truth tells me I am not condemned. It’s time I believe it. It’s time to act as I believe it.
Reflections:
Monday: Read Romans 8:1-2.”Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.” Why should Christians not feel condemned?
Tuesday: When do I feel condemned?
Wednesday: How does my self-talk condemn or encourage me? Read Philippians 4:8-9. “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.” How can I implement that?
Thursday: Read I Peter 5:8: “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” What ammunition do I readily give the enemy to help in my own condemnation?
Friday: Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, Thank you for setting me free. Free from sin, free from eternal sorrow, free from condemnation today. Please remind me of that freedom You bought so I don’t willingly surrender myself back into captivity. Thank you for Your great love, Amen.
